KOREAN'S UNIVERSITIES:




If you are interested to study in South Korea, there are many universities and posibilities to you. First you need to know what university is better for you, and what kind of scholarships offer each one them.

Here we show you several universities that you can go to study maybe Korean lenguage or other kind of program.

The first university that offer many careers and oportunities is Yonsi University. 


















  • Requirements: Sophomores, juniors, and seniors in all majors are eligible to participate. Students should have a minimum average of 2.5 or better. Korean language ability is not required.

  • Room and Board: There are two university housing facilities. The International House is Yonsei’s dormitory for international students. There are only double rooms with separate wings for male and female students. The SK Global House which opened in March 2010 is state of the art housing for international students and visiting faculty. There are single and double rooms with private bathrooms and showers. All of the rooms in both facilities are western-style with heat and air-conditioning and internet access. There are no meal plans, but there is a shared kitchen with several refrigerators. Students can eat in the university cafeterias as well as in the numerous restaurants close to campus.

    The second university is Hallym University. This university is more for the people want to learn more about the lenguage and culture of this wonderful country.


    • Program Information:  
    Hallym International School (HIS), a division of the Institute of Global Education (IGE), was established to promote an international community at Hallym University. Korean Language Education Center (KLEC) was established in August, 2004 under the aegis of the Institute of Global Education to teach Korean language and culture to international students from around the world. KLEC has various Korean language programs designed to improve communicative competence and performance. All teachers at KLEC have completed a training program in teaching Korean as second language, and are well versed in Korean grammar, language acquisition theory, and Korean language teaching methodology. Further, they are experienced in teaching Korean as a second language to students from a variety of language backgrounds. With enthusiastic and experienced teachers, foreign students learn and practice speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in a well-equipped environment.

    • Academics: 
    This program offers students practical and experiential exploration of Korean language, history, culture and customs. Topics are available in Korean Food, Korean Arts and Music, Intercultural Communication, Korean History and Korean Pop Culture. The program is mainly taught in English.


    • Support Services:
    The HIS Program is unique and unprecedented in that it is aimed at presenting practical and fun-oriented cultural sharing activities, rather than only in-class lecturing. Each visiting student will have a Korean student as a counterpart throughout the entire program, promoting cultural exchange through interpersonal interaction, and the opportunity to share the language, history, culture, and customs of each country.


    • Housing: 
    Hallym International Dormitory (HID) was established in the fall semester of 2004 and is a place where you will live with Hallym University students who are serious about improving their language skills and who want to use their second language in their daily life. This unique situation where visiting exchange students live alongside Korean students will help you adjust to life in Korea while promoting intercultural awareness. Currently, there are students practicing four different languages in HID: English, Japanese, Chinese and Russian. HID is equipped with a variety of resources to help improve students language skills including, satellite television in each of the four languages, a variety of publications, language specific computer resources, and a singing room with a variety of songs in Chinese, Japanese, and English.
    Hallym's dormintory facilities are equipped with reading rooms, a PC room, a gymnasium, tennis courts, a music room, laundry facilities (07:00~11:00, each floor), and a movie room. Each room is furnished with a LAN connection, bed, desk, closet and phone for the students' convenience.


    • Meals:
    Students may use the cafeteria or local restaurants. There are microwave ovens and water purifiers available in the dormitory.

    Ajou University offers Master’s degree programs in International Business and International Trade for students coming via the KOICA scholarship program. Students are normally nominated by their own countries to study at one of the leading Korean universities and Ajou Graduate School of International Studies selects the nominated students via Ajou GSIS’s admission criteria. Every year, Ajou GSIS receives 15-20 KOICA students from more than 20 countries.

    • NIIED (National Institute of International Education Development):
    The National Institute for International Education Development (NIIED) is responsible for education of overseas Koreans and international exchange and cooperation in education. NIIED is an executive agency affiliated with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in Korea, and they promote their program and recruit possible foreign students in the Korean embassies abroad to bring them to study in Korea. Foreign students coming to Korea via NIIED normally study Korean language first and then seek a degree program (undergraduate and postgraduate programs).
